Selling in Poshmark can be a bit overwhelming when you start for the first time. There is much to learn: what to get, how to list and how to sell your items. As someone who has been an elegant seller for years, he wanted to share some things he would like to have known before he started selling in Poshmark. These tips and tools can help you avoid common mistakes and take it on the way to success faster.

This publication is sponsored by Elegant which provides real data and analysis for resellers, but all opinions are mine. I only work with companies that I think will really help other resellers.

Product re -tag is key (and there are tools to help)

New Poshmark vendors often make the mistake of addressing the second -hand store and buying things based on what they personally like and think it will be sold. And although that can work for some people, it is not a super reliable strategy. Trust me: Guessing is not your friend when it comes to obtaining a profitable inventory.

Instead, I recommend doing a little product research that shows that the items you are buying really sell. This is a Posthmark fight because it does not provide tools or analysis to make it easy. Fortunately, there are tools like Elegant To help you clearly see what brands and styles are selling right now.

Poshwatch Product Research Tool It allows you to do a search and quickly see crucial data such as selling through the rate, the average sales time, market saturation, the average price and more. Poshwatch is a newer tool that I would like to have existed when I started in Poshmark years ago. Literally it has never been easier to do product investigation!

Do not ignore the sales rate

Speaking of product research, let's talk about how important the sale is through the rate.

In a nutshell: Sell through the rate = articles sold ÷ listed articles.

For example

  • 75 articles sold of 100 listed items is a 75% sales rate
  • 25 articles sold of 100 listed items is a 25% sales rate

Why does it matter? A higher sales rate means that more of that item is being sold. That means a better opportunity for a sale and less time waiting for their items to move. Again, Poshwatch products search tool You can help you see this quickly for any article you are thinking of selling.

Sharing is important (but do not do it manually)

One thing that always bothered me about Poshmark is the need to share your articles constantly. Sharing your items increases your visibility in the search and helps you make sales, but stop what I am doing to share each article in my closet several times a day? No, thanks.

I used to establish alarms on my phone reminding me that I shared my articles four times a day.

That is before discovering that there are tools there to share your items for you! There are different types of tools to share, including Elegant that works with your browser and Slap that works from your phone. All you have to do is configure it and its listings are automatically shared.

Now I share each element 10 or more times a day to make sure they are always at the top of the list when people use the filter “just shared” (the predetermined filter in Poshmark).

Avoid obtaining

Most resellers will agree with me when I say the supply is the best part of the resale. Reach the second -hand store (or anywhere that obtains your inventory) and looking for treasures is why most of us start first. The problem is to get Fomo can get into trouble!

Remember that the supply is just a part of managing a successful resale business. If you spend all your time looking for inventory, but not listing, sharing, etc. It is easy to enter your head. Suddenly, you have lots of inventory to enumerate and a lot of money invested in items that are not yet listed. Or worse, you are buying things that are not profitable because you love the emotion of purchases.

I have been totally there! But here there are some tips to avoid obumo:

  • Establish limits: Decide how many hours (or how much money) will spend on the supply every week. Or border each other to obtain once all your non -listing inventory has been listed.
  • Be demanding: Not only buy things because it is pretty or cheap. Prioritize a profitable inventory with a good sale through the rate.
  • Avoid social networks: Every time I see a second -hand route on YouTube or see someone in the second -hand store on Instagram, instantly I feel like and I need to go. Avoiding social networks helps me avoid falling into this trap.

Do not stress the love notes (reviews/comments)

One thing I see a new positive stress is Love Notes (also known as comments). When you get a new one, he feels like a gold star, and when does anyone leave one? He feels as if you did something wrong!

Here is the truth: not getting a love note does not mean that you have done something wrong. Some buyers (many of them, actually) simply do not take the time to leave comments.

Another thing? Neutral or negative love notes are not the end of the world. Of course, we must always do everything possible to describe the articles with precision, pack them to reach their new home safely and have a good customer service. But sometimes accidents or misunderstandings occur. One or two bad criticism will not hurt you as badly as they will do.

Grant in the things you can control as:

  • Clear descriptions with precise details for buyers to know exactly what they are buying
  • Good photos to back up your descriptions and clearly show your article from all angles (this is a condition test if there is a problem)
  • Fast shipping is quite expected these days and will keep your customers happy

At the end of the day, your sales and money you are doing is more important than a few lines of comments. Simply do your best and don't read too much.
